Volunteer

The Columbia Cyclones Youth Hockey Association is more than a hockey organization. We are a community of families working together to create an outstanding experience for every player who puts on a Cyclones jersey.

From our Board of Directors to our coaches, team managers, locker room monitors, and game day volunteers, every role is filled by people who generously give their time because they believe in growing the game of hockey and investing in our young athletes.

Without volunteers, there are no practices, no games, no tournaments, no special events, and no Columbia Cyclones.

Whether you have years of hockey experience or have never stepped inside a rink before, there is a place for you. Many of our most valuable volunteers started simply by saying, “How can I help?”

Volunteer Opportunities

Board of Directors

Help guide the future of our organization through leadership positions including:

• Youth Hockey Coordinator
• Coaching Director
• Committee Chairs

Coaching Staff

Coach or assist with practices and games while helping players develop both on and off the ice. USA Hockey provides certification and training for coaches.

Team Managers

Serve as the organizational leader for a team by assisting with communication, scheduling, travel coordination, and game day operations.

Equipment Volunteers

Assist with jerseys, equipment inventory, player fittings, and organization throughout the season.

Game Day Volunteers

Our games cannot happen without volunteers helping with:

• Scoreboard operation
• Timekeeping
• Game sheet administration
• Music booth
• Penalty box attendants
• Locker room monitors
• Live scoring and game recording
• Special event support

Events & Fundraising

Help organize tournaments, registration events, Try Hockey for Free, community outreach, sponsorship events, banquets, and other special activities throughout the year.

Committees

Serve on one of our committees and help shape the future of our association in areas such as:

No Hockey Experience? No Problem.

Many volunteer positions require no hockey knowledge at all. We provide guidance, training, and support to help you succeed. Whatever your background, your willingness to help is what matters most.
