About the Columbia Cyclones

The Columbia Cyclones youth hockey travel teams are managed by the Capital City Youth Hockey Association and play in the Carolinas Hockey League (CHL). The CHL is the only youth travel league recognized by CAHA (USA Hockey's affiliate in the Carolinas). The league is comprised of member clubs from the states of Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.

The Cyclones will field teams from Mite to Midget levels (5-16 years old) for the 2008-2009 season. Travel teams will participate in either the "HOUSE SELECT/ REC", "A" or "AA" Divisions. Teams will play league weekend series on average once per month (3 to 4 league games per weekend). The CHL season runs from October through March. Teams that qualify will play in the CHL Finals Tournament at the end of the season. In addition to the CHL, travel teams will participate in other non-league tournaments and games throughout the season.

Practices and home games for the Cyclones teams will be held at The Plex Indoor Sports & Ice, located in Irmo SC.
